Background
Carmen graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2009. After starting a role in private practice, Carmen furthered her academic thirst by additionally training in Orthodontics.
Carmen began her orthodontic career working in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj- Napoca (Romania), in the Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics department as an Assistant Professor.
In 2018, after completing her doctoral studies in Orthodontics, Carmen moved to London to start her role at eLINE. The subject of her PhD thesis, “The contribution of modern complementary examinations in establishing the orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning” has given her a deep knowledge of the new technologies available in our field and the way they can help us obtain the best possible results for our patients. She continues to be passionate about developing new treatment strategies and practices within the clinic and is very interested in the link between the temporomandibular joint and the ‘way we bite’, which continues to be a very highlighted and controversial topic in orthodontics.
One of the early highlights of Carmen’s professional occupation was teaching Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics to students from all over the globe. Carmen also had the opportunity to treat under- privileged children. It gave her great pleasure to see them develop and grow in confidence and improve their oral health and she confesses that those years were a highlight of her professional career.
What do you love about your job?
My job helps people smile! To smile wider, more natural and with greater confidence. That is what I enjoy most about my job. It is a huge achievement to help patients with their transformation.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
I enjoy interior design and gardening. Living in London means I miss the mountains, forests and nature of my childhood. To help me have a little escape to nature every week, this year I have started the English Gardening Course at Chelsea Physic Garden.
Any advice or tips you would give to new patients?
There is no such thing as an easy fix! Good Orthodontics is technical, precise and takes both time and patience from the Orthodontist and the patient.

We, as a profession, have numerous tools, materials and diagnostic information to achieve long term excellence. Multidisciplinary treatment protocols are inevitable and a pre-requisite to achieve this excellence.
